Brazil

Brazil is the largest country in both South America and the Latin American region, it is also fifth largest country in the world, both by area and population. Total population of Brazil is around 200 million. Brazil shares its border with Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Argentina and Bolivia. Brazil is an exciting place to visit because of its unique cultural integrity coupled with its utter natural beauty.

Brazil is a country of great natural beauty and unique cultural integrity. White sand beaches, tropical islands, forest, charming colonial cities along vast coastline area and music filled cities are the attractions in Brazil. Some of the major attractions in Brazil are The Amazon Rain Forest, The Amazon River, Statue of Christ de Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, Iguazu Falls, Pantanal, Manaus, Fernando de Noronha, Salvador Beaches, Jalapao Desert, Angra dos Reis and Big Island and Rio De Janeiro.   

The Amazon Rain Forest: The Amazon Forest is the largest forest of the world. The broad leafed rainforest in the heart of Brazil covers a gigantic area of 7 million sq km. Tenth of the estimated 10 million species lives in the Amazon rainforest. There are approximately 40,000 plant species, 1300 bird species, 380 reptile species, 430 amphibian species and 3000 fish species in the forest.

Statue of Christ de Redeemer: Christ the Redeemer is a statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Statue of Christ the Redeemer is located in the Tijuca National Forest, on the top of Mount Corcovado at the height of 704 meter. The Statue is 38 meter tall standing on a pedestal of 8 meter and the arms stretch to 30 meters. The arms of Statue are stretched out towards the city, as if blessing the land. It is one of the Seven New Wonders of the World chosen by the American Society of Civil Engineers in 2007.

Fernando de Noronha: Fernando de Noronha, a world heritage site situated 350 kilometers off the northeastern coast of Brazil. Fernando de Noronha is an amazing archipelago of turquoise waters, natural beaches and well-preserved natural landscapes. Fernando de Noronha is a best place in the world for divers and snorkelers.

Iguazu Falls: Iguazu Falls, one of the seven wonder of the nature, situated at the point of union of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. This waterfall is quite complex as it is not just one waterfall, but many waterfalls overlapping each other falling into the roaring water below the canopy of the forest. It is must visit place in Brazil.

Salvador Beaches: Salvador Beaches in Brazil is a best place to visit and relax. Salvador, capital of Bahia state is an attractive colonial city. The beaches are marvelous with lots of activities ranges from inlets with calm water, ideal for swimming and diving to open sea inlets with strong waves, which is ideal for surfing.   

Food: Brigadeiro- a chocolate truffles, Coxinhas- fried snacks filled with chicken and cheese, Feijoada- black been stew with meat and sausage, Farofa- fried cassava flour with egg, bacon and other ingredients, Feijao Tropeiro, Moqueca de Camarao, Vatapa, Pave, etc.   

Climate: Due to varying heights above sea level and the proximity to the coast, the climate of Brazil varies from region to region. Northern and parts of the interior of the Northeastern region has an average temperature of 25 C and above whereas southern and southeastern region has an average temperature of 20 C and below. Rainfall is usually heavy and frequent throughout the year in equatorial zone.
