Malaysia

Malaysia is unique country of two main landmasses where Malays, Indians, Chinese and other ethnic groups live together in peace and harmony.  Due to its multi ethnic culture Malaysia has become a home to hundreds of colorful festivals.  Apart from its multi cultural traditions, Malaysia is also known for its wild forest, orangutans, granite peaks, remote tribes and some beautiful Islands.

Some of the top tourist attractions of Malaysia are Mulu Caves, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Borneo, Perhentian Island, Cameron Highlands, Penag, Langkawi, etc.

Some major attractions of Malaysia in brief:

Kuala Lumpur: It is the Federal capital and largest metropolitan city of Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur is famous for its impressive skyscrapers, shopping, and nightlife.  Other attractions of Kuala Lumpur are the Petronas Towers (world`s largest twin tower), the Perdana Lake Gardens, and Menara KL Tower.

Mulu National Park and Caves:  Mulu National Park is located at Malaysian Borneo, containing incredible caves and limestone karst formations in a mountainous equatorial rainforest setting. Mulu National Park features some of the largest and longest Cave system in the world.

Langkawi: A group of 99 Island in Andaman Sea, located at northwestern corner of Malaysia. Langkawi is the Malaysia`s most promoted tourist destination because of its long white beaches with an interior of jungle covered hills and craggy mountain peaks. It also has Malaysia`s largest indoor aquarium.

Cameron Highlands: The Cameron Highlands is a Hill station developed by British in 1920s is the oldest tourist spot of Malaysia. The Cameron Highlands has plenty of lush scenery, beautiful Tea plantations, strawberry farm, colorful flower farm, lakes and wild life.

Taman Negara: Covering three states of West Malaysia, is supposed to be the world`s oldest tropical rainforest.  This is an adventures destination to visit, here you can find rare plants to exotic birds and wild animals like Malayan Tiger, Asian Elephant and Sumatran Rhinoceros. Here, tourists can enjoy beautiful waterfalls, trekking and fishing.

Perhentian Island: Perhentian Island is a group of two Islands, famous for beautiful white sandy beaches and astonishing blue sea. Perhentian Island is a good choice for budget travelers because of its cheap accommodation.

Transportation: Main means of transportation in Malaysia are Ferry Service, Railways, Taxi and Bus, Domestic Airways. 

Food: Some of the great foods of Malaysia are Banana Leaf Rice, Nasi Dagang (Rice and Fish Curry), Hokkien Mee (type of noodle), Sang Har Noodles (prawns with noodles), etc.

Climate: Climate in Malaysia is equatorial, hot and humid,   day time temperature is around 30 C and at night time temperature is around 20 C. There are two distinct monsoon season in Malaysia, south west monsoon from May to September and north east monsoon from November to March. Best time to visit Malaysia is June-July and January-February.
