South Africa

South Africa is at the southern tip of Africa bordering Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Swaziland and Lesotho. South Africa is well known for its Gold mines and renowned Wines. South Africa is a heaven for those who love adventure. South Africa has a 3000 KM long coastline with thousands of beaches. South Africa is a superb tourist destination due to its rich culture, landscapes, beautiful beaches, wild animals and glorious history.

Major Tourist attractions in South Africa are: Capetown, Kruger National Park, Johannesburg, Garden Route, The Kalahari & Namaqualand, Durban Beachfront, Robben Island, Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve and The Cradle of Humankind are the most visited places of South Africa.

Capetown:  Cape Town is famous for beautiful scenery, exotic beaches, Table Mountain, whale watching, African Penguins at Boulders beach, hiking and much more. Capetown is also have a UNESCO world heritage site the “Robben Island”. Robben Island is mostly famous for the prison where the political prisoners were held during the Apartheid Era.    

Kruger National Park: The Kruger National Park, north of Johannesburg is the largest reserve in South Africa of nearly 2 million hectares, features 16 ecosystem. The park has the highest variety of wild life in Africa which includes lion, leopards, cheetah, elephant, rhinos, cape buffalos and many more.

Garden Route: The Garden Route stretches from Mossel Bay in western Cape to Storms river in eastern Cape. It is rich in natural beauty and charm. Here you have a opportunity to see over 300 different bird spices, dolphins, seals, coral reefs, etc. The Garden Route also has some stunning beaches and world class golf resorts.

The Cradle of Humankind: The Cradle of Humankind is a complex of limestone caves, 50 km away from Johannesburg. The most famous fossils discovered here are “Mr. Skull” and “little Foot” which is about 2.1 million years old and 3 million old respectively. These discoveries are date back to the birth of mankind.

Johannesburg: Johannesburg is also famous by the name of “City Of Gold”. In Johannesburg there are endless opportunities for shopping and entertainment.

Food: Biltong (dry meat), Mealie (dish of Maize), Bredie (very spicy dish of meat and vegetables), Melktert (a type of custard), Sosaties (marinated and cubed meat).

Climate:  Hot Summer (November-March), as hot as 35 C and cold winter (May-August), as cool as 0 C.
